Chris Bridges, 89, died on her Birthday, January 15, 2013 after a short illness. She was in the Hospice Home in North Carolina with family and prayers surrounding her. She had a wonderful birthday in Heaven with our Heavenly Father and her husband, Paul. Chris was the daughter of the late Alonzo J. Morris and Maude Evans Morris of Princeton. Her sister, Joyce Hubbell of Virginia also preceded her in death. She was born in 1924 in Gary, WV. The day after graduating from Princeton High School she left for Washington, DC where she worked for the FBI for over a year. After returning to Princeton, she worked for a short time at G.C. Murphy Company where she met her husband Paul. They eloped and were married in Pearisburg in July of 1947. Chris worked for Dr. Goodall until Cindy was born two years later. They lived in Montgomery, WV for a short time where Paulette was born in 1955. Chris and her family lived in Richmond, VA for 3 years then returned “home” to West Virginia where they lived until Paul died in December of 2009. Chris was always a stay-at-home Mother until age 48 she enrolled in school and chose nursing as a career. She graduated in the top 5%of her class and worked for the Mercer County Health Department for a short time and then Princeton Community Hospital until she retired at age 65. Chris leaves behind two daughters, Cindy and Paulette. Cindy from Timberlake, NC was married to Mike Sparks and had two children, PJ and Michael.
